Frequently Ask Questions
About the 2007 Head of the Connecticut Regatta
Q:
There are NCAA and other rules prohibiting competition between High
School and Collegiate crews. Is it possible for high school
athletes to compete against college athletes in the Head of the
Connecticut, including in the Collegiate Singles events?
A:
Head of the Connecticut has designed the event list and rules to prevent
such direct competition. Please see our rules regarding
limits
on High School entries. For example, it would not be
acceptable for a high school sculler to enter event 6D, Women's College
Singles. Event 6E, Women's High School & Youth Singles
(non-novice), is a separate event and appropriate for a high school
athlete.
Q: How
many boats must be entered in the Varsity events before entries can be
made in the JV events?
A: At
least one boat from the group should be entered in the Varsity event
before boats should be entered in the JV events. Remaining entries
are at the coach's discretion. |
